HISTORY

SOS Cambodian Kids was born in the arms of little LOR Kim Song.
In his poor village of Koh Soutin, Kampong Cham province in Cambodia, his dying mother made him promise to become a doctor so that he could provide free healthcare to the poorest. He was 8 years old at the time!
Having dreamed of becoming an architect, he abandoned his dreams to fulfill the promise he had made!
In the 1970s, with the war raging, he had to leave Cambodia with his wife and child, the country where he had first begun to study medicine under difficult conditions, being without resources or funding.
Having arrived in France, where he sought refuge, he was fortunate enough to be able to continue his studies, specializing in anesthesia and acupuncture.
He could have lived happily in France without worrying about the plight of his compatriots living in poverty in his native country.
But his mother's last wish never left him, and although he was unable to become a building architect, he now shapes people's health, making it the best possible in his daily life as a general practitioner and acupuncturist, but also as the founder of the "SOS Cambodian Kids" association, whose guiding principle is free access to care for the poor populations of Cambodia.
And so, alongside his wife, Mrs. Vila Lor, the President, with their medical team and volunteers now flocking from every continent, they crisscross the country each summer to provide consultations, refer patients to the specialists best suited to their needs, supply medication, and, if necessary, perform surgeries. All of this is free of charge. Come and discover their extraordinary adventure.
